The application methods for weft extensions are varied, with a range of weights and lengths from 16 to 24 inches. Typical application is via a combination of beads and sew-in with either single or double density of weft hair applied per row, working horizontally around the head. Depending on the look required a full head could consist of more than one row being applied, this ultimately depends on the size of the persons head and the space available to allow undetectable application. The easiest way to understand weft hair would be to describe it as ‘a grass skirt effect’ with hairs all tied or bonded to one main strip which is then attached to your own hair via beads that are placed in a row close to the root of your own hair. Over the next 4-6 weeks these beads grow away from your scalp and the weft moves down the hair with them, requiring moving back up every 4-6 weeks to maintain a discreet application and to avoid matting at the root.

Beauty Works GOLD Double Weft is the ultimate choice in premium Remy human hair. Designed to maximise volume, the GOLD Double Weft is a revolutionary weft design that is unique to Beauty Works. Their thickest hair extension weft compacts 150g of pure Double Drawn Remy hair onto a flat, double wefted lace design.
Another option is Beauty Works Express-weft. A unique hybrid hair extension system that combines the easy application and seamless blend of tape-in extensions with the volume of weft extensions. Perfect for clients on a healthy hair journey, Express-weft can be used to fill out the hair in certain areas and do not need to cover the entire head.
Our partner Balmain offer Double hair which are 9 cm wide ‘pockets’ of weft, consisting of three layers of hair allowing your Stylist to create instant volume and length with a minimum number of application points. To ensure invisible integration and comfortable wearing, the wefts are fastened under a layer of extension hair with either clips, rings, or keratin bonds. Double hair is ideal to be used as a hair filler service.
