It’s summer 2024 and the big news is that sun-kissed hair is in vogue! Finally putting an end to the silver ash blondes that so many clients have strived for but find hard to achieve or maintain.
With warmer blondes, in many cases you can take a gentler route to lightening your hair, avoiding harsher bleaches and taking ammonia free options and Hi-lifting tints, which are designed to both lighten your hair and tone at the same time.
Babylights are ultra fine highlights around the hairline and scattered throughout the hair – just like the sun has lightened it naturally. Your Stylist may combine babylights with other techniques to create a look that is more than a classic highlight effect using back combing at the root, Foilayage and applying some extra pieces into the ends to make the lights ‘pop’.
We call all our multi-technique applications ‘Bespoke colour’ because the recipe for achieving your colour desires is bespoke to you and where your hair colour currently is. We do not need you to stress about what to ask for, just visit us for a free of charge consultation in advance of your appointment, for us to do any strand tests or to advise on the booking time required and let us do the rest. We will book your bespoke colour for the time it will take us; ensure your allergy alert testing is up to date and help you to understand what will happen on application day and the cost involved.
A warmer blonde is ideal for clients who want to avoid the extra chemical service and cost of applying a toner to their hair. For Stylists at TVR, ‘the toner debate’ is ongoing, as whilst we can deliver your ‘instagrammable’ tone on the day, a toner fades as it cannot be permanent and, in most cases, reveals some warmth in the blonde hair over subsequent washes, which can cause a rollercoaster of your blonde looking just right and then not looking exactly your desired blonde for some of the time between visits.
TVR Owner, Kerry says, “a toner is great to add a hint of colour for an event or a change, however I want my results to look fabulous every day and a toner that fades does not have the longevity for me. I prefer this season’s warmer blondes as for most of my clients this is achievable with subtle techniques like babylights which do not need too much maintenance, are kinder to the hair and stay pretty much the same from one visit to the next. The warmth can be subtle and is so much shinier than a flatter ash colour, which can dull overtime – I am team – NO TONER (in general)”
Celebrities swear by babylights because they are subtle, flattering and low maintenance keeping the colour result constant. Check out the gallery below to see some of our favourite examples. If that sounds it something that you would like, give TVR a call and book in for a free chat with a Stylist who will advise you as to suitability.
