We’ll start by sharing some great news… we are not increasing our colour prices post lockdown.
We know many local salons have taken the difficult decision to significantly raise hair colour prices, in order to survive the aftermath of the pandemic.
It was important to us to explore all possible options to avoid a post lock down price increase, as at The Vanilla Room we only increase prices once a year on 1st November, our salon anniversary.
The trouble is, longer re-growth presented by clients who have not visited for an extended number of weeks takes a lot more colour product. So, we needed to put our thinking caps on to find a way to keep prices the same, and still deliver the incredible colour service you expect.
It is with great excitement that we introduce the answer…a smart new smart scale system for weighing colour formulations that not only measures every gram of your bespoke colour mix, but it also automatically details it on your record card every-time, making our applications even more precise and individual to you.
When we are able to measure every drop of colour, it makes it easy to show transparently what makes up the final docket. Here you see a receipt from a client that used an additional bowl of colour, beyond what was included in the service price. The system allocated a charge for only the exact weight of extra colour product used, so with the one off long re-growth application post lockdown, this transparent pricing is a positive feature that clients can trust.
In the example, the client surpassed the threshold of product allotted for her service, thus triggering the additional cost of £14.44. Now the stylist or front desk receptionist can explain to the client why this charge was triggered, providing that transparency.
Protecting the environment
We are also thrilled to share that our new smart scale colour bar works harder to protect the environment.
Have you ever thought about all of the waste generated from a colour service and where all this waste goes? The foils, colour tubes, unused hair colour, paper, and plastics are all finding their way into our waterways or landfills. Stylists are well aware of the issue this industry faces when it comes to the environment; the waste generated in salons just keeps growing, even more so now with PPE with very few remedies.
We are so happy that our new colour bar system helps us to control this as when we have finished your colour application the colourist re-weighs the bowls, with any residual product calculated and automatically adjusted on your record card, so next time you visit we are even more precise and reduce the waste that goes into the sink.
