2022 has been a year of incredible hair transformations, multiple award wins and the growth of our fantastic team at The Vanilla Room. We’ve put together our favourite moments from throughout the year as we look forward to 2023.
Kicking off the year right with some fabulous wedding updos’ created by Art Directors Kerry and Sam. They’re effortless, sophisticated and feminine. And we especially adore the added sparkle!
Love was in the hair in February! This valentine’s themed hair was created by our talented Art Director Scott. This shade of hot pink is bold, shiny and we absolutely love it! What took this look to another level was the added hints of purple and orange, hiding underneath.
We were announced as finalists in the Havering Small Business Awards and later went on to win Best Beauty Service. Hairdressing and Training Coordinator Emma said “Winning this award is incredible. The whole team worked so hard over the past two years to keep customer care high. A big thank you to everyone who voted for us!”
April has got to be one of our favourite months as spring is in full swing. The month is full of beautiful balayage, like this one by Art Director Sam. Shiny, silky and stunning!
Our fabulous Hair Camp apprentices went in for their End Point Assessments and passed with flying colours! We also grew our programme a lot this year, bringing the total number of trainees to 15. We can’t wait to watch their progress over the next year and help them achieve their hairdressing potential!
A standout transformation has got to be this beautiful chocolate brown by Art Director Richard. We love this look! In fact, it’s our most popular shade. Goes to show that brunette never goes out of style – it’s perfect for every season and super easy to maintain.
July was a busy month of training for the TVR team. We received the brand-new shades of colour from L’Oreal – perfect to make our summer colours pop! We were inspired to create coral blonde panels to the front section of the hair – it took the look to a completely new level!
August
We welcomed some fantastic new members to The Vanilla Room team. Stylist Estelle and Creative Stylists Chloe and Charlotte joined us and excelled immediately. They’re a truly valued part of the team and we wouldn’t be the same without them!
Beautiful copper and orange shades start coming to life in the later months, and it has to be one of our favourite times of year. Creative Stylist Chloe upgraded this client’s natural colour with a copper shine. The result is dazzling, healthy and impossible to achieve at home!
We stepped into autumn with this stunning warm toned balayage. Stylist Estelle transformed this client’s hair from an uneven blocked out blonde to a warm, broken up copper. We adore this time of year as we get to see more chestnut, mahogany and copper transformations!
Inspired by Halloween, Creative Stylist Charlotte designed this Day of the Dead themed hair do. She’s spectacular at updo’s and is the go-to for event hair! We also celebrated our 27th birthday this month and it’s surreal to think how far we’ve come. November also saw the launch of our new specialist salon services along with our updated price list.
We are finishing off the year with our win of Best Colour Salon in Essex for the Salon Awards. We were so proud to have taken home this prestigious award and thrilled with the judges’ comments – “The Vanilla Room’s commitment to delivering high quality hair cut & style services is unmatched. Kerry and her team are setting a new standard in customer care.
