Emerald green, peacock blue and hot pink are lighting up our world
Whether you want to change your personality and go emerald green, or simply want to give some dimension to your natural shade via contrasting sections, freshening up your hair colour is one of the best ways to reset your look. TVR clients love to stay up-to-date on the hottest hair colour trends, and so as we approach summer, we’re looking forward to helping many ladies and gents to revamp their shade once again. In this COLOUR FOCUS we asked three TVR hair stylists to share their advice for clients considering the hottest hair colour look of summer – vivid!
Here’s what they had to say –
Melody, Art Director:
“Bright, vivid hair colours are not for the faint hearted! I’m loving that so many clients are switching their look up with vivid shades of emerald green, peacock blue and hot pink right now.. They look amazing when applied to the right canvas using the super shiny Elumen prestige colour. However, they take time to achieve and are a huge commitment to maintain. I always take time to explain to clients that in most cases the hair needs to be pre – bleached, but also in great condition for the end result to look good. If the condition of the hair is compromised a vivid colour will not hold and will fade quicker than is desired and will usually look patchy and uneven.”
Kirsty, Master Stylist:
“Vivid colours look great contrasting against more natural shades in the hair and do not always need to be applied to the full head to create an impact. Many of my clients are opting for ‘peek-a-boo’ hair, which is a thick slice of colour applied to the underlayer of your hair, hidden beneath your natural colour. The perfect balance of bold and natural! Clients find these vidid looks are long lasting when the correct professional home care products are used, so important to consider because we all want to maintain the vivid colour wow factor between appointments!”
Samantha T, Creative Stylist:
“For clients who want to inject colour but are a little wary of going all-out vidid I recommend subtle pastel hints of pink or rose gold. They look great especially in the summer months and can be added over pre – lightened blonde hair. To achieve this look it’s super important that the hair is already light enough to enable the pastel shade to ‘sit’ on top, and as always, good condition hair is needed first. I always explain to clients who hope to achieve this look that pastels are delicate colours and need to be looked after carefully. With summer holidays on the horizon this does mean that swimming, saunas and steam rooms are a no-go as they’d cause fading. Styling pastel coloured hair must be done gently, without excessive heat and keeping the hair away from exposure to the sun is essential if you want to look to last.”
Considering a Vivid Colour?
At The Vanilla Room, each client’s hair colour is unique. Your colour transformation will start with an essential colour consultation appointment, which is complimentary.
At your consultation appointment your TVR stylist will create a colour quotation based on the length of time it will take to apply your custom colour techniques on the day, and for any additional stages such as toning, re-bonding, cutting and styling – as required.
Your Stylist may need to cut a few strands of your hair and process them to assess the suitability and outcome that can be achieved. You will be contacted to discuss the results, or you can stop by and have a look the day before the service.
With Bespoke Colour, you pay for our time and expertise. If your hybrid colour techniques take us a while longer to apply on the day, we won’t charge you more than for the time quoted. In addition, our smart scale colour bar system ensures that additional colour product charges are only generated if the amount of colour product required to create your look exceeds the amount automatically included in your Bespoke Colour service price level.
Bespoke Colour can be a journey. The look you want may not be achievable in just one visit, taking time to build up the required level of colour or lift over several applications in order to achieve your colour goal. Your individual colour journey plan will be created by your personal Stylist, helping you to understand the number of visits necessary to achieve your desired look, cost, and frequency of maintenance.
Vivid colours take time to achieve and are a huge commitment to maintain BUT there’s no doubt that the bespoke colour will ramp up your hair game from amateur to amazing!
